1. Position Summary:
   
   Solon India is seeking a Solar Design Engineer with expertise in PV–battery–diesel hybrid systems, including containerized solutions. The role involves system design, technical documentation, and coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions for projects in India and abroad.

2. Key Responsibilities:

• System Design: Create detailed designs, diagrams, layouts, and calculations (string sizing, fault analysis, earthing, etc.).
• Documentation & QA: Prepare BOMs, specifications, and support testing and commissioning.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with EPC, procurement, and construction teams; liaise with suppliers; provide on-site support as needed.

3. Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.Tech/BE in Electrical or Renewable Energy (mandatory); M.Tech/ME desirable.
• Experience: 5+ years in solar PV design, with at least 2 years in hybrid projects; EPC experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in PVSyst, HOMER, AutoCAD, and related tools; deep understanding of PV, BESS, and BOS components.

• Design of Rooftop & Ground mount Solar power plants
• Preparation of Technical Specifications of Equipment’s
• Preparation of Plant BOQ
• Preparation of Plant SLD & Plant Layouts
• Preparation of Design Calculations like Cables sizing calculation, Earthing calculation, Fault level calculation, string sizing calculation as per applicable Standards
• Selection of Equipment’s
• Evaluation of suppliers technical documents
• Preparation of PVsyst simulation reports
• Preparation of Shadow analysis reports
• Finding new products and technologies available in market to reduce project cost
• Interaction with Owners Engineer & Developer for Technical due diligence

• Knowledge on States & Central Government Statutory and Regulatory requirements.

Experience:

Minimum 10+ years of experience in Design of Solar Power plants.

Qualification:

B Tech/BE in Electrical Engineering or M Tech/ME in Renewable Energy

Required Software’s skills:

We prefer a candidate who has good technical skills & knowledge and is responsible for Tender review & submissions and for Detailed Engineering.

• Design & Development of Solar PV & Solar Hybrid systems.
• Devise test methods for system evaluation, building prototypes and conducting experiments.
• Understand solar resource data and use it to conduct feasibility study & technology evaluation.

• Preparation project Feasibility Report/ Detailed Project Report, Technical Specification, Bid evaluation.
• Develop detailed drawings of system components for construction and installation;
• Complete electrical and structural designs for photovoltaic projects.

Key responsibilities:

Purchase Requisition (PR) Review Strategic Sourcing for Capex, Opex, Bulk Material & Services Contract Preparation and Order Placement Procurement through Rate Contracts: Post Order Management Supplier / Vendor Identification and On-boarding Supplier / Vendor Performance Management Data Analytics.
